Christmas Tree Hosta is a large fast growing mounding Hosta plant. It will get to a height of 23 inches and a diameter of 30 inches. The leaves of this plant form a tight clump of very attractive variegated foliage.
Christmas Tree has green leaves with a narrow yellow margin. The oval leaves are pretty big at 9 inches long by 8 inches wide and are strongly textured and cup downward at the tips. The thick leaves help give it a resistance to slugs.
This plant should be grown in mostly shade to dappled sunlight. Too much sun can cause the leaves to burn which is not unexpected from a plant with Hosta Sieboldiana Frances Williams as part of its parentage. Hosta Beatrice was the pod parent of Christmas Tree.
Christmas Tree Hosta has pale lavender flowers which set viable seed.
This is a good plant for the shade garden but should be avoided if you have a garden that has little or no shade to protect it from the sun. This Hosta plant requires the same general care as most others.
